Virgo Lounge has been online since 2003 and our mission is to promote House and Dance Music through collaboration and online broadcasts that feature hundreds of hours of music for house, garage, club, big room, classic, and disco dance music.

What Broadcasting Format Does Virgo Lounge Use and Why?
The broadcasts on Virgo Lounge are now in MP3 format. We recently and are in the process of converting from our Real Audio format.
Why Real Audio? We get this question a lot. We began with Real Audio back in 1997 and old habits die hard. Real Audio’s quality was then better than traditional MP3 coding. Since MP3 encoding can now produce a suitable CD-like sound we decided to discontinue using Real Networks. Plus, MP3 formats are completely universal and is now much easier to use.
Virgo Lounge provides streaming and downloading for broadcasts. The broadcasts are On-Demand that allows listeners to rewind, fast-forward, pause and replay songs of choice.

How Can I Get Music To Play from Virgo Lounge?
Virgo Lounge’s music streams are near CD quality. Each music file size averages between 50 - 120 megabytes.
To play MP3 streams you must have an MP3 player installed on your computer such as WinAmp.
To play a Real Audio file, you must first download the FREE Real Audio Player. Once it’s installed it will associate .RM and .RAM files automatically and music streams will play from your computer.
Our Real Audio streams are designed for BroadBand, DSL and other High-Speed Internet connections. Dial-Up users, or if you are having break-ups in hearing music streams, should “Right-Click” and “Save As” the “Download - DL” link associated with each file to save and play directly from your computer’s hard drive for better quality and uninterrupted listening.

What Is a Podcast?
It is a coding technology for using RSS (Really Simple Syndication) to automatically download audio files to an iPod, MP3 Media Player, iTunes or Windows Media player via software. This is the work of Adam Curry - many of you may remember him as an MTV VJ years ago.
This new technology is impressive and any favorite online broadcast or radio program can be downloaded with Podcast feeds. The feed command is in the RSS or XML file, which will download audio files to your hard drive. For some people it’s a way of creating their own radio show when at home or on the go to automatically upload content to a MP3 player.
