Stephanie grew up in the inner city in Newark New Jersey and most of her peers got their start by singing in church at the tender age of nine she belted out a stirring rendition of "I promise" that stunned parishioners listened to her sing at 15 wrote her first song, but it was not until 10 years later that she would pen her first non-gospel song, of course, her recent influences would not get lost far away from the former Stephanie credits Fred Hammond, The Clark Sisters and Marvin Winans as her biggest influences as a vocalist Her songwriting is without prejudice to lean more towards Stevie Wonder Diane Warren and Babyface.

 Kenny Bobien
|
 Sheila Ford
|
|
New Jersey's Kenny Bobien is one of the most widely recognized male singers in house and is often referred to as the “King of Gospel House Music”, but he doesn't fit the image commonly associated with underground dance music.
Kenny is a Singer, Songwriter and Producer and as well as being a Pastor at his church, Bobien is a dedicated family man and the father of a large family.
With almost twenty years of experience in the music business, Kenny continues to amaze audiences with his stage presence and voice. Bobien's distinctive falsetto has powered many a club anthem through work with such notables as the Dennis Ferrer, Louie Vega, DJ Spen, Basement Boys and Kerri Chandler.
His recordings are an impressive string of quality releases, which includes the motion picture soundtrack "Hanging With The Homeboys", "You Are My Friend", "Kenny's Friends", "Father", "Rise Above The Storm", "Brighter Days", "Let Me Show you", "I shall not be moved”, "Superficial People", "Reach", "Blessed" and “Grateful” These are just a few of the songs that have inspired so many.

Cool, sexy, soulful and serene. With a voice that glistens like a string of pearls, musicianship beyond her years, and a lovely, irresistible stage persona, Sheila Ford is indeed a musical treasure. Vast experience as a vocalist and entertainer has equipped Miss Ford for nearly any challenge the music stage has to offer. Though Sheila has a special love for jazz (Ella Fitzgerald is one of her earliest and best loved influences), she has dazzled audiences in nearly every musical style-jazz, funk, r&b, blues, classic soul, pop, house, rock, Latin, even rap. No stranger to the studio, Sheila is a highly sought after session vocalist and songwriter. Producers and songwriters love her range, tone, versatility, and ear for harmony. Whether she's jazzin' it up or rockin' the house, Sheila has what it takes and is loved by audiences and musicians alike.

 Guy Robin

 Jerico
|
|
Special Note: This Guy is a phenomenal and creative producer for soulful house. His tracks are well thought out and complex that results in smooth and beautifully blended music.
Despite his tender years, Guy Robin is already a seasoned professional whose music has been championed by some of the biggest names in the business.
Still only twenty, he has worked with some of the most successful artists of the last twenty years and, as his career goes from strength to strength, he's launching his new label, Memory Recordings.
Introduced to music by his father, Guy was exposed to jazz, disco and soul from a very early age, becoming a musician himself by the time he was eight. After witnessing a friend DJing and the crowd reaction, he knew almost instantly what he was destined to do, “...It was like something just clicked”. One thing led to another and by the time he reached his teens the art of production had also been added to his growing array of talents.
Influenced by a number of artists including Jean Michelle Jarre, Daft Punk and Eric Prydz, Guy has a passion for electronic music, although nothing that's run of the mill – it has to provoke a truly memorable reaction. He has produced music for some of the biggest labels in the scene with releases on Defected, Soulfuric and MN2S to name just a few. Amongst his recent remix credits are Copyright's vocal anthem “I Pray” and the worldwide smash “Can't Get Enough” by Soulsearcher.
The summer of 2009 brought the launch of his new label, Memory Recordings, for which there is already a clear vision. The label will release music, much of it from Guy himself, with energy and depth, designed to resonate not only with the DJ's but also with those who experience it on the dance floor. Far from simply releasing great music, this is a long term project building a worldwide brand to rival some of the iconic labels within the scene.

Darryl D’Bonneau |
Barbara Sheree |
|
The Past... How many success stories have you heard that began in Charleston, South Carolina? When you think of Charleston, you think of the Deep South - A port city drenched in Southern tradition and charm. Out of one of those Southern traditions, Darryl D'Bonneau's star was born. Some of the greatest singers of our day got their start singing in the Southern tradition of the Gospel choir. Divas such as Aretha Franklin, Candi Staton & Whitney Houston started in church and brought that spirit to the Pop charts and Dance floors of the World over. So much has been made of the divas, but what about the men? Darryl D'Bonneau is the latest name to be added to that prestigious list that includes Sam Cooke, Isaac Hayes & Sylvester. He started singing at the age of four, but it wasn't until he was ten years old that his career took off in earnest.

It’s rare and daring for a new artist to enter the hip hop-dominated music market in the United States these days as a dance/pop act, while in Europe this is commonplace.
Enter Barbara Sheree. Without a doubt she is the pre-eminent new voice to brazenly emerge with a bevy of pop dance hits and a team of producers, remixers, promoters, publicists and a record label to back her in the United States. But with her voice and the bold support by Patti Labelle, for whom she has done numerous backing vocalist performances over the years and by whom she is called Ms. Labelle’s “favorite voice”, the game is on.
Barbara Sheree’s debut single, “Together”, has just entered the Billboard Club Play charts, and it’s being received remarkably well by the major tastemaking djs and dance mixshows. It has had initial, pre-release support by the dj-to-the-djs in the USA market, Junior Vasquez, who has been playing the song peak-hour for many months.
The album is scheduled to hit during the Winter Music Conference in Miami in March, but the buzz is already in full swing.
Barbara is available for performances. Suggested songs (continuous program15 minute performance) are: “Together”, “Yes We Can”, “Power to the People” and “Through the Fire”. She is a gifted, experienced, crowd-rousing talent for major venues seeking pop/dance energy headliners.

Cerrone
With an unmistakable and original style, Cerrone (pronouced Sa' rone) is undoubtedly a true founding father of disco which of course lead to the building foundations of what we now know as dance music.
This extraordinary pioneer is one that should be in the history books for giving such a contribution to the music culture as a whole.

Mondee Oliver
A truly unique individual who could have easily been known as the queen of underground music.
Mondee was involved in a career that expanded the gamut and worked with high powered producers like Roy Ayers, Larry Heard and many many others. She had a voice that could be best descried as a cross between Chaka Kahn, Aretha Franklin and Patti Labelle. She was in a league of her own and inside the elite of the scream queens being close the throne of the greatest scream queen Loleatta Holloway herself.
Mondee grew up in St. Louis Mo and left around the age of 14 or so to pursue opportunities in Los Angeles CA. She was a regular on the soul dance show Soul Train and she worked with legendary artist Roy Ayers and made the track "Don't Stop The Feeling", which to this day is still a funk disco piece that is considered by many as being a rare and eternal classic.
Mondee had a dynamic personality, when she entered a club, literally everyone would turn and gawk at her amazing beauty. When she moved on the dance floor it was truly show stopping... she was vogueing in the mid 80s, far before the movement in New York.
Mondee returned to St. Louis around 1987 or so and was found by producer George Spentzos of Chicago. They worked together on an array of productions up to her untimely demise in 1994.
Mondee was a good friend with a sparkling personality that would light up any room. She was down to earth, warm, friendly and would have you on the floor with her humor. She was truly a unique individual and is still dearly missed.

K-Joy
Who is K.Joy? Good Question! Born in Chicago under the birth name Kimberly Joy Salter (a.k.a. Kim Sutter),
K.Joy started singing at the tender age of five and it didn't take long for the precocious singer to attract attention. K.Joy attended William H. Ray Elementary School in Hyde Park, where she began to develop her musical abilities through playing classical piano, writing lyrics, and where she also learned of the Chicago Children's Choir. K.Joy played piano for five years and sang in the Chicago Children's Choir for three years, which granted her the opportunity to share her musical gift around the world. It was then that she realized how much she loved to perform.
K.Joy has all the makings of a legend. She won first place in a high school talent show coordinated by known mentor Lena Mclin (to Chaka Khan, R.Kelly and others) beating out now multi-platinum recording artist R.Kelly, who came in second place. Although we were competing it was really about the music, we all had a passion for it she explains.

DJ Houseman
OK, everyone's been asking who is Houseman... To begin, I'm a complicated sort of spirit with many varied interests and as underground as they come.
I setup, operate and update Virgo Lounge as a hobby and labor of love for house and dance music. I love house music and always will. My idols are the original founding house fathers... Marshall Jefferson, Larry Heard, Robert Owens, Farley and all the rest who pioneered this thing we call House Music.
I've always had a knack for music even when I was a little boy. People and family would always get me to play the 45s on the record players for parties, I guess I always had a deep connection with music.
I was only 18 years old, the first time I publicly played records as a DJ, a legendary bar called the Onyx Room which later became the infamous Zebra Lounge. You would have to be a native Saint Louisan to truly understand.
There I was, this mere child, playing to hundreds of people with a unique style unlike any other in the St. Louis area and it worked. The bar was constantly packed and I can remember the steam on the windows and heat flowing out as you opened the main door from all those people dancing. It was a place you came to sweat and sweat they did.
I then played at all of the hot spots in St. Louis with various stints from black to white clubs included. I then relocated to Atlanta in 1989 and stayed until 2001 when I returned to St. Louis to take care of family concerns.
I own a graphic / web company ... www.Marketcom123.com and now with my partner we are starting on a new venture ... www.specialtygardens.us
My heart will always have a special place for music and I try to do my part to promote wherever and whenever I can. I haven't played a live set for a while, due to my belief that music needs to constantly evolve. I had my hey day and it's time for the new kids to show some stuff and besides I'm an ol' man to be up spinning in clubs... I know, I know...
Every month I am amazed, overwhelmed and proud of the music that comes out in our community. It is truly a blessing to be a part of such a talented culture.
Well I hope this covers a little of who Houseman is... hit me up sometime, I love talking about music!

Robert Owens
Ask any fan of dance music who their favourite male vocalist is and nine times out of ten Robert Owens name will come back. Sure, there are other great male house vocalists out there, but with more than twenty years as a gifted singer, songwriter, producer and DJ under his belt, Robert has not so much embellished house music as played a large part in defining it. 'Tears', 'I'll Be Your Friend' and 'Ordinary People' are just some of the tunes that have borne his black velvet voice and gone on to become truly classic dance records. Finally, 2008 will see the release of Robert Owens first artist album in 10 years - 'Night-time Stories'.

Mo & Dawn: The Remix Project - St. Louis, MO
The collaboration between trumpeter, singer/songwriter Dawn Weber and pianist and bandleader Mo Egeston began in 1997. The result has been a remarkably consistent string of successful bands including Vargas Swing (8 piece swing band), Vargas (original soul, jazz and Latin) and from 2000-2005 the pioneering live house music band, Urban Jazz Naturals.
Mo & Dawn's work as the Urban Jazz Naturals included the release of the Urban Jazz EP (Large/Vista) with a remix by Demarkus Lewis; How Can I(Gallery) with a remix by JT Donaldson; and a self titled EP on CD and vinyl. Building on the sound of UJN, the duo made the difficult decision to go “solo” in the summer of 2005 with the remix project. mo & dawn: the remix project: Vol. 1 was released as a CD demo in September of 2006. The sound is still all about live funky electronica, but with complete freedom of style and musical collaboration.
Mo now handles all the sequencing and loop manipulation for the new set which includes house, trip hop, electro funk, soul, acid jazz and drum& bass.
The material is all original and includes electronic mixes of much of the material that mo & dawn have written for their bands through the years.
Currently in studio writing and remixing tracks, mo & dawn look forward to hitting the road in 2007 with their new sounds.
